CEDARBERG - 3 DAY TOUR

THE CEDARBERG WILDERNESS AREA lies about 200km north of Cape Town and encompasses 71,000 ha of rugged mountainous terrain. It is renowned for its spectacular landscapes and rock formations as well as its namesake, the increasingly rare Clanwilliam Cedar. Leopards are fairly common in this area, although very shy and rarely seen. Baboons, Dassies, Grey Rheebok, Klipspringers, the small Grey Mongoose and the Striped Polecat are often seen. More than 100 bird species occur here, with Black Eagle, Rock Kestrel and Jack Buzzard the most common raptors.

Day 1

Camping Holiday Cedarberg Cape Town We pick up in town and head for the mountains - a 3.5 hour drive. En route you have the option of cycling the old mountain pass up and/or down to our chalets on the river. After lunch, relax and explore the immediate surroundings with an evening bike ride to the Bushman paintings, followed by dinner and traditional fireside cheer.

Day 2

Wolfberg Cracks An early start after a light snack we hike up through the Wolfberg Cracks to the "Top of the World" for stunning views and rock formations. Then its on to the awesome Wolfberg Arch where we'll enjoy a delicious brunch before heading back to the chalets to relax and swim. You should have a great appetite for a well-deserved dinner.

Day 3

A slow start and hearty breakfast to prepare you for the cycle out of the mountains and back to civilisation and tarred roads. (The support wagon will be available to pick up stragglers.) Time permitting, we stop at Blouberg Strand for the classic view of Table Mountain across the Bay. We hope to have you back before dark.
