28-DAY SOUTH AFRICAN TOUR - CAPE/LESOTHO/DRAKENSBERG/KRUGER

After visiting Cape Town and the Peninsula we head out via the Winelands through the Little Karoo and into the Great Karoo. The cycling stages are lengthy between 60 and 100km per day but with a well equipped van supporting us there is no pressure and the leisurely pace is most appropriate.

We shuttle on some days to cover more ground as we head for the Mountain Kingdom of Lesotho and an unforgettable 5 days cycling the ups and downs of this small dramatic country where comforts are sometimes compromised to make it possible as we get into serious backcountry. Cruising down Sani Pass marks our return to SA but the Drakensberg poses yet another exhilarating challenge.

We break from cycling on occasion to hike in these dramatic mountains often times to view the remote paintings of the previous inhabitants who left us this graphic library of their lifestyle. We then take a short detour into Swaziland before entering the Kruger National Park where we hope to see the Big 5 and much more wildlife in the two days of game viewing.

Only a few more cycling days as we leave Kruger for the Pot Holes and Blyde River Canyon. After Pilgrims Rest we head for the airport at the end of a comprehensive tour of Southern Africa filled with lasting memories.
